What else do i need to buy with the cricut?

I bought the most basic cricut for a Christmas gift and want to know what else I should buy to go with it. Not looking to spend a lot on cartridges or anything, but rather the bare basics.

You don’t have to buy anything else for it.
You can pick up extra sticky pads, or a pick that helps get the cardstock off the sticky pad.

is it unreasonably expensive to buy the necessary parts items for using a cricut?
